Run for the Fallen consists of the 5K Run/Walk, the 10K Run, the 1 Mile Firefighter Challenge and the 1 Mile Kid's Run.
Volunteers will hand out water, take pictures, help participants stay on course, park vehicles, and more.

PICK-UP ON THURSDAY OR FRIDAY IS APPRECIATED AND ENCOURAGED
Volunteers assisting with Run for the Fallen must be over the age of 18, or accompanied by a parent, guardian or chaperone that is at least 18 years old.
Volunteers must be able to follow written or verbal instructions as provided by Event Staff.
During their shift, Volunteers are expected to devote their full attention to Run for the Fallen, and maintain respectful, professional conduct at all times.
Volunteers are expected to review all issued information prior to the day of the event. Please check-in on time with an understanding of where you are going and what you will be doing during your shift.
Event Staff will be on-site to assist with questions, but may have limited availability.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU
All Volunteers must be able to sign a participation waiver.
Volunteers under the age of 18, are required to have waivers signed by a parent, guardian or chaperone.
By registering, Volunteers understand that they are expected to attend the Event.
Volunteers must consent to a background check in order to be considered for a volunteer position.
Each person acknowledges and understands that they accept all risks associated with volunteering for Run for the Fallen.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
EVENT PHOTOGRAPHERS
Help us capture Run for the Fallen by taking event photos.
Your pictures will be shared on social media, our website and with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
REQUIREMENTS
No professional photography experience or equipment required.
Volunteers must provide their own camera and transportation to the event.

COURSE ATTENDANTS
Assist participants as they navigate the more challenging areas of the courses by signing up as a Course Attendant. This position requires volunteers to direct 5K and 10K participants on key areas of the route with color coded arrows.
REQUIREMENTS
Volunteers must be able to stand in one place for approximately one hour and provide their own transportation from Towering Pines Park to one of the following locations:

WATER STATION ATTENDANTS
Keep participants hydrated by manning a water station.
Water stations are a great volunteer opportunity for families, groups of friends or sponsors.
Each water station requires a minimum of 3 volunteers.
Each station will be equipped with first aid, folding table, water, cups, 4 gallon dog waterer, dog clean-up materials and garbage bags.
REQUIREMENTS
Volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation to their designated water station, stand or sit in place for up to 90 minutes and distribute water to participants. Volunteers are required to bring their own chairs if they would like to sit.

PARKING ATTENDANTS
Reserved for Members of Boy Scouts of America Troop 451
Assist athletes, sponsors and spectators with by signing up to be a Parking Attendant. Parking Attendants will be provided with a safety vest and list of designated parking areas upon arriving at Towering Pines Park.
REQUIREMENTS
Volunteers must be able to remain on their feet for approximately three and a half hours. Volunteers for this position must be 18 years or older, or be accompanied by parent or guardian.

WATER STATION SET-UP /
TEAR- DOWN
Reserved for Members of Boy Scouts of America Troop 451
Assist the Run for the Fallen Event Staff with delivering and setting up all (6) of the Run for the Fallen water stations.
Once the 1 Mile Firefighter Challenge starts at 11:15 am, volunteers can head back out and pick the stations up and return them to the park.
Between set-up and tear-down volunteers are invited to cheer on participants at the start/finish line or assist with parking if needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Volunteers must be able to remain on their feet for approximately five hours.
Volunteers must be able to provide a truck to transport water station boxes and folding tables to assigned locations.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONDERS
(GREENHECK EMR PROGRAM)
Reserved for Greenheck Fan Corporation Employees Participating in the EMR Program
Provide emergency medical care at water stations on the 5K, 10K and 1 Mile routes.
REQUIREMENTS
Volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation to their designated water station, stand or sit in place for up to 90 minutes and provide emergency medical care to runners if needed.
Volunteers are required to bring their own chairs if they would like to sit.

Food service at Run for the Fallen is provided by the employees and approved volunteers of the Salvation Army of Wausau.
