Fire personnel looking for a way to honor the fallen first responders of September 11th are invited to join us for the 1 Mile Firefighter Challenge.
Firefighters are encouraged to run or walk the mile long course in full turnout gear as a tribute to those who gave their lives 21 years ago.
Although the 1 Mile is intended primarily for firefighters, your friends and family (non-fire personnel) are encouraged to register and support you as you run or walk in this event. If you have a spouse, child or friend that would like to participate with you, please review the 1 Mile Firefighter Challenge (Friends & Family) registration option.
COURSE INFO: The Run For The Fallen 1 Mile Firefighter Challenge Course is a nice, flat, down and back route spanning Pine Road (west) down to Evergreen Elementary.
WATER/FIRST AID: This course offers one water station and first aid station. Water and first aid will also be available at Towering Pines Park.
RESTROOMS: Restrooms are available at Towering Pines Park
TIMING: Chip timed event - timing services provided by Tortoise & Hare Race Management
SHIRT CUT-OFF: 11:59pm, Monday, August 1, 2022. Please register by this date to be guaranteed an event tee in your correct size. Extra shirts will be ordered and given to participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
♿ ACCESSIBILITY: All routes are wheelchair and stroller accessible. ADA accessible restrooms and designated parking is available at Towering Pines Park.
